This motor insurance training workshop is aimed at those involved on a day-to-day basis with motor insurance including supervisors and managers.

Our interactive one-day motor insurance training workshop covers the legal, theoretical and technical knowledge needed to reinforce existing practical experience.

  • Summary of EU Motor Directives and a study of the relevant wording of RTA 1988
  • How the industry deals with the victims of uninsured drivers
  • An examination of the role of other legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act, Race Relations Act and Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
  • Presentation of risks to underwriters – rating factors, non-standard risks, accidents, convictions, account management
  • Details of the car grouping process and how Thatcham assesses security devices
  • A detailed study of policy cover, illustrating the differences between private car and commercial vehicle cover
  • A study of how the market deals with customer complaints and the FOS role.
