Letter and Report Writing Skills

Business writing is often technical and complex and can make special demands on an author.   A writer who has not yet learned to identify with the reader will encounter problems.

In today’s high-tech world, with remote working, good communication and writing skills are more critical than ever.

E-mail speeds up our communication, but challenges us to make our messages both clear and appropriate in  tone.

This interactive workshop provides practical help and guidance to develop these skills.

Organise and structure documents logically to make them easy to read and understand

Use English which is concise and accurate

Use vocabulary, punctuation, tense and sentence construction to achieve the required style and tone of the document

Write in a style appropriate to the readership of the document

Use an appropriate layout style to improve the presentation of reports

Plan and prepare notes constructively

Reduce the time taken to produce letters by making the first draft more effective

Evaluate the written document
