This workshop is aimed at those who already have a working knowledge of motor insurance on the personal side and who are looking to expand their careers into the commercial field.

Delegates will experience a full day of active involvement in the basic principles and practice of CV, Fleet and Motor Trade insurance and the course will dispel some of the “mystique” seems to accompany these (especially the latter two) classes.

• Describe the various types of commercial vehicles and the risks associated with each

• demonstrate why motor traders and fleet operators require special treatment

• explain the effect of the Motor Insurance Database on Fleet and Motor Trade businesses

• describe the various rating methods for fleet and motor trade policies and procedures relating to renewal.

• explain the relevance of the Verified Experience Form and its contents

• How MID affects fleet and motor trade business

• A comparison of fleet rating with NCD

• Policy Covers including standard extensions and options

• Overview of rating and underwriting associated with the different commercial risks.

• Rating methods, including “Points” Basis, “Fleet” Rating and “Book Rates Less Discount”
