SEARCHLIGHT BROKER EXPO QUIZ ENDS IN PLAY-OFF (November 2006)

An online electronic general knowledge quiz hosted by leading UK insurance training and competence services provider Searchlight Solutions at the Insurance Age Expo 2007 in Birmingham last week produced a neck-and-neck finish.

David Ingham, managing director of Ingham Underwriting, narrowly beat off Mandy Bush, marketing manager of Centurion Claims, who matched David’s score at the end of the competition but came off worse in a final play-off round.

Visitors to the show were invited to take part in an online general knowledge quiz based on the end-of-course tests and assessment modules on Searchlight’s market-leading e-learning system Tick. David Ingham and Mandy Bush were tied on a very impressive 76% score after a 10-question specialist subject qualifying round and a very tough 25-question general knowledge round. Along with the third placed player, they each received bottles of Champagne in sizes varying in inverse proportion to their final placing.

Searchlight managing director Ian Jerrum commented: “Congratulations to both David and Mandy on their excellent scores. This format has become a big hit with delegates in its last couple of outings. Everyone seems to love a quiz, and from Searchlight’s point of view, it’s an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the user-friendly mechanics of the Tick e-learning system.”
