Introduction

The aim of this one day interactive workshop is to develop or update delegates’ existing knowledge of the principles and practice of Liability insurance with particular regard to Public and Products risks. It is suitable for the more experienced delegate involved in either underwriting, claims or broking who is looking to update, supplement or develop their basic knowledge.

Workshop Objectives

Delegates who successfully complete this workshop will be able to:

• assess liability exposures and make recommendations for relevant Public and Products Liability Insurance coverage for different types of customer

• explain the cover usually provided under Public and Products Liability Insurance policies and how this could be amended to meet the needs of particular customers

• outline the cover available under Financial Loss, Product Guarantee/Recall, and Environmental Impairment Liability policies

• explain the main considerations which impact on the underwriting of Public and Products Liability Insurance risks

• explain the Liability Insurance claims handling process and the importance of the Woolf reforms
