Engineering Insurance and Inspection - Intermediate

Introduction

This one day interactive workshop builds on the basic knowledge gained in the Engineering Insurance and Inspection – Introduction workshop and discusses in detail the alternative inspection philosophy available under the Pressure Safety Systems Regulations and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations.

Dovetailing the covers with the property programme and understanding the exclusions is reinforced and a range of contingency policies are explained and evaluated.

Workshop Objectives

Delegates who successfully complete this workshop will be able to:

• show greater confidence when discussing Engineering insurance risks with insurers and customers

• review the principles associated with statutory inspection

• describe the procedures for extending the inspection frequencies as allowed for under the pressure plant and lifting machinery legislation

• describe the need to dovetail Property and Engineering insurance policies

• outline the Business Interruption insurance exposures relating to the peril of explosion

• describe the protection and exclusions applicable to the main contingency covers of Erection All Risks, Computers, Hired-in Plant and Deterioration of Stock
